New label joins major roster

The new venture arrives one day before the release of his upcoming single Tom and Jerry. Tyler Arnold, who serves as chairman and CEO at Mercury Records, expressed pride in welcoming Mayer to the team. Mayer stated that working with the current team has made moving from creative vision to execution easier.

Departure from previous home

This move follows his exit from Columbia Records in 2022 after a long tenure there. The singer-songwriter previously signed with that label in the early 2000s and released every album under their contract until now. He confirmed earlier this year that he is currently working on his next record.

Mercury adds heavy hitters

Mayer joins a roster that already includes artists like Noah Kahan and Morgan Wallen. The partnership aims to help bring his creative vision to life for future projects. Arnold noted that Mayer is considered one of the greatest artists of all time.
