James McAvoy says Split is the only film that consistently pays him residuals
Actor James McAvoy told the Happy Sad Confused podcast recently that M Night Shyamalan's 2016 horror movie Split is the only production from which he regularly receives residual payments.

McAvoy explains low residual checks
The actor stated on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he occasionally receives small checks for other projects. He noted that some payments are so small they cost more to mail than the amount received. McAvoy described receiving a check of 25 cents as an example of these minor payouts.
Split generated significant profits
McAvoy estimated the film was made for approximately 6 million dollars with advertising spending around 30 million. The movie earned 40 million in its first weekend alone, putting it into profit immediately. This financial success led to a residual check arriving at the end of that opening weekend.
Cast members and box office
The film featured Anya Taylor Joy Haley Lu Richardson and Jessica Sula in leading roles alongside McAvoy. Domestic earnings reached 138.29 million while international sales totaled 140.16 million for a worldwide gross of 278.45 million.
