Universal Pictures has identified Spanish director J.A. Bayona as the leading candidate to direct the sequel to Jurassic World Rebirth.

Bayona Previously Directed Fallen Kingdom

J.A. Bayona directed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018 and is understood to be in no formal talks yet. His previous work includes The Rings of Power and the Oscar-nominated film The Impossible.

Main Cast Expected to Return

Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey are expected to reprise their roles contingent on their schedules. The script for the next film is being written by David Koepp.
