Israeli Americans Protest LA Screening of Documentary NAZA Amid Theatrical Release
Dozens of Israeli-Americans and Jewish community members protested outside a Los Angeles theater on Friday during the theatrical release of the documentary NAZA.
Protesters Demand Truth About Events
Participants wrapped themselves in flags while holding signs that read Learn the Facts and Know the Truth. They displayed images documenting the October 7 attack alongside posters calling for the return of hostages. Aya Shechter, chief operating officer of the Israeli-American Council, stated that their message is clear wherever lies are told about Israel.
Filmmakers Cite Sense of Obligation
Directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor previously said they made the film out of a sense of obligation to examine systems behind mass killings. The September premiere at the New York Film Festival also faced protests organized by the same group. Tal Shuster, co-chair of the council, noted that supporters are not saying the film should not be shown.
