Indian director Samjad releases new vampire action film Half after Marvel canceled Blade
Indian filmmaker Samjad has released his co-written movie Half featuring twin half-vampire siblings seeking revenge in India.
Twin siblings seek revenge
The film follows twin siblings Ranjith Sajeev and Aiswarya Raj who are robbed and left for dead on a highway. Because they are half-vampires, the pair recovers from their injuries and vows to take gruesome revenge on the attackers.
Action style differs from Blade
Director Samjad wanted to execute the vampire action thriller concept in a raw and grounded way without any slow motion. Fight coordinator Very Tri Yulisman orchestrated creative, funny and bone-crunching action sequences for the production.
Film debuted at festivals
The movie received high-energy screenings during its Midnight Madness debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. It also played at Fantastic Fest where audiences reacted positively to the brawler style.
