Indian actor Nana Patekar dies at age 75 following heart attack
Nana Patekar, an Indian actor known for roles in Salaam Bombay and Parinda, has died of a heart attack at the age of 75.

Early career and awards
Patekar first gained prominence through Mira Nair's 1988 film Salaam Bombay. He later starred in Bollywood hits such as Parinda and Krantiveer. Along with Irrfan Khan, he remains the only performer to win Filmfare awards for best actor, best supporting actor, and best villain.
Controversy and public image
Allegations of sexual harassment were first raised by former co-star Tanushree Dutta in 2008. These claims were revisited in 2018 when Dutta spoke again about the incidents. Until those allegations surfaced, Patekar's rougher acting style was largely celebrated by audiences.
Acting style and legacy
Critics noted his baggy-eyed naturalism spoke more to Bombay streetlife than Bollywood fantasy. He wrote out his dialogue until internalising it before delivering growling line readings. Satyajit Ray counted him among his most illustrious admirers despite reportedly finding no suitable project for him.
