Guy Raz buys How I Built This podcast and adds video content
Guy Raz has acquired full ownership of the How I Built This podcast and announced a partnership with Vox Media to launch video episodes this fall.
Ownership transfer from NPR
Raz purchased the show from NPR after previously holding a licensing deal with Amazon's Wondery. The program launched in 2016 and has released more than 700 episodes since that time.
Video expansion begins this fall
Starting later this year, the series will premiere video versions on YouTube and social media platforms. Raz intends to transform the archive into a video show while bringing back live events.
Future publishing schedule changes
By early 2027, the podcast will publish twice as many episodes as it currently does. This increase follows the decision to make a long-term commitment to expanding the show's reach.
