Creators confirm project return

Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are writing a new script for the show. The creators stated they have been in contact with approximately ten members of the original cast. They reported that former actors asked questions about the plan but remained enthusiastic regarding the idea.

Original series history

The initial run followed students at McKinley High School in Ohio who performed in the New Directions glee club. The show combined comedy and music while exploring topics such as sexuality, race and mental health. It ran for six seasons before ending in 2015.

Cast members involved

Lea Michele played the role of Rachel Berry during the original production. Other stars included Amber Riley, Jane Lynch and Matthew Morrison alongside the late Cory Monteith. The reboot aims to bring back the global pop culture phenomenon for a new audience.
