Gintama: Yoshiwara in Flames director and producer discuss film at Lucca Comics
Director Naoya Andô and producer Ryo Nakamura discussed the fourth Gintama movie previewed at Lucca Comics and Games before its Italian theatrical release.

Production choices for the film
The team planned many action scenes for this cinematic outing. They chose the CinemaScope ultrawide ratio to allow more camera movement. Using 3D also helped frame shots better and appreciate the design.
Story differences from the TV series
The previous television episodes did not show the Yoshiwara district burning. This new film depicts the location catching fire for the first time. The story continues the saga started by manga author Hideaki Sorachi.
