Family seeks public donations

A GoFundMe campaign launched for his family describes the death as an unfathomable tragedy. Wright and his husband were laid off from their positions earlier this summer. The family states that covering funeral and memorial costs is currently impossible for them.

DeGeneres shares tribute video

Ellen DeGeneres posted a tearful video on Instagram on Monday to remember Wright. She noted that he worked on the show from 2006 until its finale in 2022. DeGeneres described him as the glue to their entire family at the program.
