Easterseals Disability Arts Awards honor film and TV projects
The inaugural Easterseals Disability Arts & Culture Awards honored winners in film, television and media at an event in Santa Monica on Saturday.

Winners receive recognition for work
The ceremony recognized outstanding achievement in authentic disability representation across various entertainment sectors. Specific honorees included The Pitt for Best Scripted Series and Horsegirls for Best Feature. Daniel Monks also received an award for his performance in All Her Fault.
Special awards celebrate legacy
Geri Jewell was presented with the Legacy Award while Vincent Rutley took home the Christopher Reeve Emerging Talent Award. The event highlighted a tradition that began in 1979 and continues to support artists today. Comedian Tina Friml hosted the gathering which featured a performance by Lachi.
Event location and host
The Barker Hangar served as the venue for this Saturday night celebration in Santa Monica. Nancy Weintraub, chief advancement officer of Easterseals Southern California, spoke about the organization's proud history. Shawn Davis, co-executive producer of The Darcys, noted that the awards mark a new chapter.
