Dolly Parton Imagination Library expands to ten London boroughs
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library scheme will double the number of London boroughs it serves after a month following the singer's death.
Scheme covers more areas now
The program currently operates in five boroughs but will increase coverage to ten. This expansion makes an additional 157,000 children eligible for free monthly books until their fifth birthday. The initiative is funded by the Postcode Lottery and remains open to every child regardless of family income.
Parents welcome the new access
Harriet Sedrick-Ugo, an early years educator from south London, stated that the books have given her daughter more confidence. She noted that buying books can be expensive and the free option benefits many families. The scheme has delivered over seven million books to children in the UK since its start.
