Dick Guttman, veteran Hollywood publicist and screenwriter, dies at 93
Dick Guttman, a longtime Hollywood publicity executive who represented stars including Barbra Streisand and Clint Eastwood, died on September 19 in Los Altos, California.

Guttman spent more than 70 years working as a press agent before his death. He began his career at Rogers & Cowan in the late 1950s representing actors like Paul Newman and Tony Curtis. In 1971 he partnered with Jerry Pam to form an agency that operated for over two decades.
Screenwriting credits and books
The executive also worked as a screenwriter with credits on the 1963 film Back Door to Hell. He published an autobiography titled Starflacker in 2015 which shared more than 1,000 stories from his industry decades. His writing portfolio included two telefilms helmed by Joseph Sargent.
Personal life and recent move
Guttman met his wife Gisela while working in Paris and they married in 1956. The couple lived in Malibu until last year when they moved north to be close to family after the Palisades Fire.
