Crazy Rich Asians HBO series casts original film stars for eight-episode drama
HBO has announced that Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh and Ronny Chieng are joining the cast of its upcoming Crazy Rich Asians TV series.

Original film stars return to roles
Constance Wu, Henry Golding and Ronny Chieng have signed on as series regulars for the one-hour drama. Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh will appear in a recurring capacity. All four actors will reprise their specific characters from the 2018 hit movie.
Production team includes original writers
Adele Lim, who co-wrote the 2018 film, is set as showrunner and executive producer for the new series. The project is based on Kevin Kwan's book series published between 2013 and 2017. Writers are currently developing scripts with support from Warner Bros Television.
Series development timeline confirmed
Reports indicate the TV project was first reported to be in development during early 2025. The series will consist of eight episodes exploring the worlds of the source books. This adaptation follows the success of the original theatrical release.
