Former Raw Comedy Channel Changes

Sebastian Maniscalco's Comedy Radio replaced Channel 99, which was formerly known as Raw Comedy or Raw Dog. The previous channel allowed up-and-coming comedians to launch their careers and earn money through the satellite radio giant. Maniscalco now curates and headlines the programming on that specific SiriusXM channel.

Calls for Restoring Young Voices

Patton Oswalt stated that 500 up-and-coming comedians have been booted off of Sirius since the change. He argued that young voices are essential for keeping the comedy world dynamic and diverse. Oswalt told Maniscalco that reversing the decision would easily allow those new performers to return.

Financial Impact on Performers

Michelle Wolf and other comics emphasized that many performers depend on the checks they receive from SiriusXM. They believe allowing new talent to thrive is necessary for the industry to remain healthy. The group hopes Maniscalco will consider the financial needs of these struggling comedians.
