During the inaugural four-day festival in Park City, David Gelb watched Massimo Bottura save a pizza from being discarded. The chef then sauced and sliced the pie to feed event attendees who gathered for the spectacle. Gelb described seeing these subjects cook together as feeling like a scripted crossover event.
Las Vegas weekender features DJs
A follow-up weekender in Las Vegas ran from September 18 to 20 with restaurant takeovers and collaborative dinners. Massimo Bottura performed as a DJ for the marquee event called The Feast before cracking open a large wheel of cheese onstage. Thomas Keller also played decks at Wynn's Encore Beach Club alongside DJ Clutch during this period.
