Carson Daly becomes co-anchor of NBC Saturday Today starting November 7
NBC News named Carson Daly as the new co-anchor for Saturday Today opposite Laura Jarrett beginning on November 7.
Daly expands weekday duties
Daly will continue hosting the weekday edition of Today alongside his other roles. He is expected to appear on the broadcast six days a week for NBC News. This move follows his departure from the late night series Last Call.
Previous anchor exits role
The new pairing replaces Peter Alexander, who left for a position at MS NOW earlier this year. Daly initially joined the show as a correspondent and co-anchor in 2013 before expanding his duties. He has served as an executive producer for The Voice since its premiere in 2011.
Network executives express support
Libby Leist stated that Daly and Jarrett make a great team for the fresh new chapter. Daly noted he remains committed to making pancakes for his family while working the weekend schedule.
