Black Bear Names Dan Cohen Head of Television Distribution
Independent studio Black Bear has appointed Dan Cohen as its new head of television distribution and announced the launch of a digital networks vertical.
Cohen Joins From Paramount And Disney
Dan Cohen previously served as chief content licensing officer at Paramount before stepping down in July 2025. He spent two decades at Disney working on pay television and digital sales for home entertainment. Black Bear CEO Teddy Schwarzman stated that Cohen brings exceptional licensing expertise and industry relationships to the role.
Studio Plans Release Of Ten Films
The firm aims to release between 10 and 12 titles per year with upcoming entries including Wicker and Jonah. Cohen will oversee post-theatrical licensing infrastructure while managing the new digital networks unit designed for independent content owners.
