Australian dramedy Her Last Laugh heads to Busan Buyers
Hong Kong-based Cappu Films has secured sales rights for Joy Hopwood's Australian film Her Last Laugh beyond Australia and New Zealand for the Busan International Film Festival.
Cast includes familiar faces from other shows
The finished project features Peter Thurnwald, known for XO Kitty, and Ana Thu Nguyen from Mortal Kombat II. Tiana Hogben, Kya Stewart, Lyanna Kea, Tony Goh and John Waters also appear in the cast. Joy Hopwood wrote, directed and produced the film through her company Joy House Productions.
Sisters face tight deadline to save agency
The story follows Chinese Australian sisters Willow and Annika Lim who inherit their late mother's casting agency. They must turn a profit within 12 months or the business passes to their estranged uncle. Clients are walking out while a competitor threatens the agency's standing.
