Ash Dykes finishes 400-mile Congo row after losing satellite contact
Adventurer Ash Dykes completed a 400-mile expedition in the Congo Basin after his team lost contact with him for nearly 24 hours.

Rowing through extreme environments
The adventurer rowed more than 434 miles along rivers in central Africa. He encountered elephants, gorillas and was chased by bees during the journey.
Satellite kit lost power
Dykes stated that his portable satellite kit shut down towards the end of the trip. His parents and fiancée were worried until he regained signal after about 20 hours.
Next challenge begins soon
This leg was the first of six back-to-back expeditions planned for extreme environments. Dykes intends to share future expeditions live but learned lessons from this experience.
