Amazon MGM seeks dismissal of harassment suit against Ed Brubaker
Amazon MGM filed a motion on Thursday to dismiss a harassment lawsuit brought by production assistant Ijaaz Noohu regarding the series Criminal.

Motion to dismiss the case
The company argues that claims about a showrunner pointing a gun are pure invention. Lawyers state Amazon has no record of any report concerning the firearm incident. The demurrer describes Noohu as an opportunist rather than a victim.
Allegations and past emails
Noohu filed the suit two weeks ago alleging racial and sexual harassment during production. His complaint includes accusations that Ed Brubaker rubbed his back and made comments about hair. Amazon lawyers note Noohu never raised a complaint while working on the show.
Pitching for promotion
An email from 2024 shows Noohu pitching himself for a promotion to executive producer. That message stated he would make the show better if given the role. Contemporaneous texts breathe not a word of harassment or discrimination.
