Allan Clarke named artistic director of Paris Indigenous film festival
Bourke filmmaker Allan Clarke will serve as artistic director for the 11th annual Festival du Cinéma Aborigène Australien in Paris from December 4 to 6.

Clarke challenges media stereotypes
The Muruwari and Gomeroi filmmaker grew up in far-west NSW struggling with negative depictions of Indigenous people. He now lives in France and wants to subvert those tropes on an international stage. Clarke stated that recent conversations in France have helped him provide context about authentic First Nations stories.
Festival celebrates First Nations cinema
The event takes place at the Cinémas l'Arlequin et Reflet Médicis venues. Festival founder Greta Morton-Elangué noted that the festival identifies First Nations cinema for a global audience. This year's theme is Kinetic, Tradition in Motion: Cinema in Revolt.
