Ali Hazelwood announces book sequel and film adaptation for Amazon MGM
Author Ali Hazelwood announced Tuesday that her new novel The Two-Body Problem will release in February 2027 while MRC develops a film for Amazon MGM.

Hazelwood stated on social media that she wrote the follow-up to her bestseller The Love Hypothesis. She described the new story as spanning a couple of years and mixing slice of life elements with postdoctoral turmoil. The author noted that nothing is guaranteed regarding the project at this time.
Film adaptation in early stages
MRC is currently developing a movie version of the upcoming book for Amazon MGM Studios. Hazelwood prefaced this news by saying that unannounced sequels can be blindsiding to readers. The production team has not yet confirmed specific casting or release dates for the film.
Previous adaptation context
Prime Video recently released a film adaptation of The Love Hypothesis starring Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman. That movie hit the streaming platform on September 23. Hazelwood said revisiting her characters after seeing the film was an absolute pleasure.
