Tesla plans to unveil new Roadster on October 1

Tesla posted a graphic with the caption Go for launch on its X account. Elon Musk replied to the post confirming the unveiling date of October 1. The company previously planned an August reveal but has pushed the event forward.

SpaceX thruster demonstration

The showcase will feature a remote-controlled vehicle using cold gas thrusters developed with SpaceX. This demonstration is expected to take place at a test facility in McGregor, Texas. Observers must stay hundreds of yards away due to the noise produced by the thrusters.

Vehicle configuration and status

The new Roadster will not be street legal and is intended for a dedicated track program. The vehicle operates without a driver inside the cabin during the hover demonstration. This model represents a shift from earlier plans involving Model S Plaid components.
