State Bank of Pakistan launches SMEConnect digital portal for financing
The State Bank of Pakistan launched a new digital portal called SMEConnect in Karachi to help small and medium enterprises access bank financing.

New platform simplifies loan applications
The central bank introduced this centralized system to create a single digital platform for businesses seeking funds. The portal allows applicants to track their application status in real time and view reasons for any rejection.
Mandatory submission date set later
All finance applications must be submitted through SMEConnect starting on November 1, 2026. The system will forward verified requests to the applicant's specific bank or development finance institution after checks are complete.
Dashboard tracks industry-wide data
A live dashboard gives regulators visibility into applications received, processed, approved, disbursed and rejected at both individual and industry levels. This tool monitors the flow of funds across different banks and development finance institutions nationwide.
