Central bank holdings reach new peak
Data released on Thursday shows the central bank added $39 million to its liquid foreign reserves during the week ending September 25. This growth pushes the total held by the State Bank of Pakistan to $21,439.2 million, marking the highest amount recorded in this reporting period. Commercial banks saw their share of net foreign reserves fall by $78.6 million to $5,331.7 million over the same timeframe.
Total liquid reserves remain stable
The combined total of liquid foreign reserves for the country stood at $26,770.9 million as of September 25. This figure represents a slight drop from the previous week when the total was $26,810.6 million. The central bank issued its weekly statement confirming these positions on Thursday.
