SECP approves digital Shariah-compliant financing app for small businesses in Pakistan
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan approved a new digital application offering up to Rs3 million on Friday.

New App Launch Details
Shaamilkar Tajir is a digital application developed by SECP-licensed Shaamilkar Financial Services. The tool allows micro-entrepreneurs to purchase inventory from approved suppliers through a simpler and faster digital process.
Regulatory Oversight Goals
The commission aims to bring underserved businesses into the formal credit system while ensuring consumer protection. SECP Chairman Dr Kabir Ahmed Sidhu stated that technology-enabled financing can expand access for these groups.
Government Finance Agenda
This approval supports the Federal Government's Access to Finance agenda for SMEs and other priority sectors. Between July 2025 and June 2026, licensed lending NBFCs provided approximately Rs253 billion through 2.5 million loans.
