Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif orders removal of export condition for SME financing
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed authorities in Islamabad to remove the 80 percent export requirement on Thursday for small and medium enterprises seeking long-term financing.

New rules for bank lending
The prime minister instructed officials to eliminate the mandate that businesses generate eighty percent of revenue from exports. He also stated that no financial institution will be permitted to deviate from the new concessional financing scheme. This change aims to improve credit access for local manufacturers and exporters alike.
Support for business growth
Leaders emphasized that the state must ensure patronage and necessary facilities for sector development. The government plans to provide support to raise capacity, improve skills, and promote business expansion. Participants were briefed on challenges regarding taxation, refunds, provincial levies, accreditation, logistics, payments, and financing.
Plans for testing labs
Shehbaz called for improvements in accreditation standards and the expansion of laboratory facilities. He directed authorities to establish modern laboratories so exporters can access essential testing services at their doorsteps. Officials noted that approximately seventeen thousand SMEs are currently engaged in exports within the country.
