Pakistan weekly inflation rises to 11.85 percent driven by flour prices
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics released data on Friday showing short-term inflation in Islamabad reached 11.85 percent year-on-year for the week ending October 22.

Price increases across essential items
Official figures indicate that prices for 19 commodities within the monitored basket increased during the review period. Wheat flour prices rose by one percent, while LPG costs escalated significantly by 22.44 percent. Other items such as chicken and onions also saw price hikes of 12.2 percent and 4.19 percent respectively.
Stable prices for many goods
The data shows that prices for 20 items remained unchanged from the previous week. Conversely, twelve items recorded a decline in cost, including petrol which dropped by 3.63 percent and tomatoes which fell by 21.99 percent.
Energy costs fuel inflation
Rising petroleum prices continue to drive the overall inflation rate higher despite recent dips in specific fuel costs. This cost-push dynamic forces households to face increased expenses for both food and non-food essentials.
