Pakistan insurers settle over one million claims in 2025
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan reported that local insurers settled more than one million claims worth approximately Rs548 billion during 2025.

Life insurance payments rise significantly
Life insurers paid Rs410 billion in claims, an increase from Rs380 billion recorded in the previous year. This sector included around Rs37 billion for death claims, which represents a rise from Rs33 billion last year.
Non-life claim counts grow
Non-life insurers settled approximately Rs138 billion, up from Rs92 billion in 2024. The total count for this sector included over 720,000 accident and health claims plus more than 282,000 motor claims.
SECP reviews industry processes
Commissioner Dr Kabir Sidhu stated that publishing these figures strengthens accountability and builds policyholder trust. The regulator is currently undertaking a comprehensive review of insurers claims-handling processes while the draft Market Conduct Rules for Insurers 2026 remain under public consultation.
