KPRA collects Rs13.123bn from taxes in first quarter of FY 2026-27

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority collected Rs13.123 billion in Sales Tax on Services and Infrastructure Development Cess during the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27.

Sales tax collections rise sharply

Collections for Sales Tax on Services reached Rs12.66 billion, marking a 24 percent increase over the same period last year. This figure represents a strong performance compared to the Rs10.210 billion gathered during July to September of the previous fiscal year.

Infrastructure cess drops due to border closure

Revenue from Infrastructure Development Cess fell to Rs457 million, an 80 percent drop from the prior year total. Officials attribute this decline primarily to the shutdown of crossings on the Afghan border which reduced cross-border trade activity.

September performance shows continued growth

The Authority collected Rs4.65 billion in September alone, which was a 35 percent increase compared to the previous September. Director General Irum Naz credited the guidance from the Chief Minister and Finance Advisor for this institutional improvement.
