Inflation forces most Peshawar households into debt, survey says
The Institute of Regional Studies released a survey on Wednesday at the Peshawar Press Club showing inflation pushed 89 percent of low-income households in Peshawar into debt.

Survey data reveals severe financial strain
Ninety-five point one percent of indebted families struggle to repay their loans amid rising living costs. Prices for essential commodities and services increased between 35 and 40 percent overall according to the findings.
Families cut spending on essentials
Sixty-seven point three percent of households noted that expenditures rose much more sharply than their incomes. Rising utility costs affected 93 percent of families while food expenses increased for 86.4 percent of respondents.
Healthcare costs become a major burden
Seventy-nine point four percent of households stated they could not afford necessary medical care due to high prices. Many families shifted to cheaper food items to manage their household budgets under these conditions.
