Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan unveils plan for self-reliant National Highway Authority
Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan announced a restructuring of the National Highway Authority at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce on Saturday.

Revenue growth enables independent funding
The authority's annual revenue has risen from Rs66 billion to Rs164 billion over the past two-and-a-half years. This financial increase allows the NHA to fund major road infrastructure projects without relying entirely on government allocations.
New model targets decade-long reconstruction
The minister stated that the new business model will support the reconstruction of national highways across the country over the next ten years. Several ongoing and planned projects are expected to be completed using these internally generated resources.
Specific motorway expansion underway
Work is currently in progress to expand the Pindi Bhattian, Faisalabad Motorway from four lanes to six lanes. The minister noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was expected to inaugurate this specific project in December.
