Authority denies notification claim
A spokesperson for the board stated that no circular has been issued to change the submission date. The false message suggested the limit had moved to October 15 based on requests from trade groups. Officials confirmed the original September 30 deadline remains in force.
Business groups seek more time
The Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association asked for a one-month extension due to portal instability. Leaders of commerce chambers also urged the government to push the date to late October. Technical glitches with the IRIS system continue to cause delays for many filers.
Filing numbers show growth
The board reported receiving approximately 4.7 million returns so far for this tax year. This figure is significantly higher than the count recorded during the same period last year. The increase reflects an overwhelming response from taxpayers despite the technical hurdles.
