Clearlake gains full control

The private equity firm now holds the entire ownership interest after acquiring the remaining stakes. Hansjörg Wyss remains a partner in the group alongside the new majority owner. Clearlake leaders Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano lead the consortium that took over.

Boehly leaves chairman role

Todd Boehly relinquishes his position as club chairman following the transaction. He stated it was an honour to serve in the role since 2022. The sale values the club at roughly five billion pounds including debt.

Previous investment history

The consortium originally purchased the club from Roman Abramovich for two point three billion pounds. Further funds were committed to investment after the former owner faced sanctions in 2022. The owners claim substantial spending occurred on squads and training facilities.
