Bentley has unveiled its first fully electric vehicle, the Torcal SUV, at a launch event in London.

The new car uses a soundtrack built from recordings of drums to mimic the sound of an eight-cylinder engine. This feature is designed to give emotion to the vehicle and bridge the gap for buyers who prefer traditional growls. Bentley states that the orchestral timpani quicken as the vehicle accelerates.
Factory investment secures UK jobs
The vehicle will be built at the company's factory in Crewe, securing the jobs of 4,000 workers there. This launch is part of a wider investment plan for the British luxury carmaker.
