Attock Refinery plans new deep-conversion unit and plant upgrades

New facility depends on crude supply

The company intends to install a deep-conversion refinery with a capacity of 50,000 barrels per day. This project will proceed only if local crude supplies from the North become sustainable and government support is received.

Euro-V standards drive expansion strategy

Management identified meeting Euro-V fuel specifications as a primary challenge requiring immediate attention. A Continuous Catalyst Regeneration unit will increase premium gasoline production while removing octane-boosting additives from the process.

Diesel sulphur reduction project costs

A revamp of the Diesel Hydro Desulphurization unit aims to lower high-speed diesel sulphur content to 10 parts per million. Front end engineering design studies for these upgrades are complete at an estimated cost of about $600 million.
